For a comedy director, my most memorable ad to date is probably this very unfunny one my mate Ben and I created for Gruen. It won, and Todd Sampson suggested on-air that The Greens should call us in the morning and try to buy it from us. They did, and since there wasn’t a signed agreement between the agency and SBS, we nearly sold it to them, but then SBS got cranky and the ensuing media maelstrom ended up getting the Greens more press than if they’d actually paid for it. I guess that’s a little bit funny.
